Bantry Bay Port Company
About:
Bantry Bay Port Company is situated on the south coast Ireland operating within four main industries in Bantry Bay, such as Aquaculture, Oil Transhipment, Stone Export and Tourism. The majority of ships calling at the port are bulk cargo and tankers, however an increased number of cruise liners anchor either off Glengarriff or in Bantry Inner Harbour, bringing a welcome boost to local tourism in the area.
In 2016 Bantry Bay Port Company commenced the new Bantry Inner Harbour Development. This development marks the start of the regeneration of Bantry inner harbour which is in keeping with the total Inner Harbour Development scheme. As well as providing a more sheltered harbour environment and marina with increased water depth, the development will also see the pier facilities improved and a new quayside area which will support and promote fishing and tourism activities in the Bantry area. This new facility is due to open in August 2017.
